AREAS OF COMPETITION (THIS PAGE IS ALSO PART OF OUR PAGEANT RULES)

Beauty-Model

'Natural'     or     'Semi Glitz' and 'Full Glitz'.
Each contestant will have up to 2:00 (two (2) minutes) to showcase their Beauty-Model routine. No more than 2:00 (two (2) minutes) allowed.

Music for All Beauty-Model Contestants will be provided by the Best National Pageants Music Director. Go to the [Contacts] tab on this website to get contact information for the Best National Pageants Director, in order to request a list of Beauty-Model song choices. 

Contestants should listen for their cues…

  1. When they hear the Emcee announce their name/turn, they should be ready to step on stage.
  2. While on stage, MOST IMPORTANT, KEEP LOOKING AT THE JUDGES UNTIL YOU EXIT THE STAGE!!

Natural Beauty-Model Attire:

  • Natural contestants may wear any style of dress, as long as it’s age appropriate. Only VERY light stoning or other embellishments on dresses will be allowed.
  • Strapless dresses will only be allowed for ages 13 and up.
  • No cupcake/full glitz dresses will be allowed for Natural contestants.
  • A dress that fits well and flatters the contestant is what we’re looking for.
  • Contestants (ages 2-6) will be required to wear flat white Mary Janes for shoe wear, with white socks.
  • Contestants (ages 7-15) will be required to wear age appropriate dress shoes & desired socks/hosiery.
  • Boy contestants may wear a suit or tuxedo (without any stoning), and formal shoe wear.

Semi-Glitz Beauty-Model Attire:

  • Semi-Glitz contestants may wear any style of dress, as long as it’s age appropriate. Only dresses with light stoning will be allowed for Semi-Glitz contestants
  • No full glitz dresses will be allowed for Semi-Glitz contestants
  • A dress that fits well and flatters the contestant is what we’re looking for.
  • Contestants (ages 2-6) will be required to wear flat white Mary Janes for shoe wear, with white socks.
  • Contestants (ages 7-15) will be required to wear age appropriate dress shoes & desired socks/hosiery.
  • Boy contestants may wear a suit or tuxedo (without very light stoning), and formal shoe wear.

Full-Glitz Beauty-Model Attire:

  • Glitz contestants must wear a Full Glitz dress that is age appropriate.
  • Strapless dresses will only be allowed for ages 13 and up.
  • Appropriate stones and/or other embellishments will be required.
  • A dress that fits well and flatters the contestant is what we’re looking for.
  • Contestants (ages 2-6) will be required to wear a short length Full Glitz cupcake style dress, with flat white Mary Janes for shoe wear & ruffle white socks.
  • Contestants (ages 7-9) will be required to wear a Full Glitz Cupcake style dress (length should be midway between the thigh and the knee) or other Full Glitz dress, with flat or small heel style white Mary Janes or other appropriate Full Glitz dress shoes & ruffle white socks/hosiery or no socks/hosiery(bare legs/feet, and a pedicure please)
  • Contestants (ages 10-15) will be required to wear an age appropriate Full Glitz dress (no cupcake style), with age appropriate dress shoes, and no socks/hosiery(bare legs/feet, and a pedicure please)
  • Boy contestants may wear a suit or tuxedo (with or without stoning), and formal shoe wear.

Outfit of Choice

  • Each contestant will have up to 1:30 (one (1) minutes and thirty (30) seconds) to perform a routine for the Outfit of Choice category.
  • Themes/outfits are anything goes (Every OOC outfit and routine should be age appropriate, and tasteful). OOC routines MUST feature modeling, but may include dance, cheer, light gymnastics/tumbling, etc. 
  • Props will be allowed:
    • Props must be able to be put together and taken apart within one minute.
    • Props will only be allowed if they’re able to be taken on and off stage quickly.
    • No confetti or smoke machines will be allowed.
    • Props will not be allowed if they litter the stage, or if the litter cannot be cleaned up very quickly & easily. Any props that litter the stage must be approved by the pageant Director prior to the pageant.
  • Contestants may supply their own music or use the Best National Pageants music for the Outfit of Choice competition. Each Contestants music for the OOC competition must be emailed to the pageant Director at least (1) week prior to the pageant. As a backup...each Contestant should also have a CD, mobile phone version, or tablet/laptop version of their music with them at the pageant. 
  • All OOC contestants clothing, music, and routine must be approved by the pageant director prior to competing in the OOC competition. If the contestant is pulled from the OOC competition due to not following the pageant rules, you will not be refunded for not being allowed to compete in the OOC portion of the competition.

Casual Wear

  • The Best National Pageant Casual Wear competition category should be thought of as a (Children's Fashion Runway). Your child will be modeling their Casual Wear attire on a Fashion Runway for the judges.
  • Each contestant will have up to 1:30 (one (1) minute and thirty (30) seconds) to model in the Casual Wear category.
  • Outfit choice should be a children's Casual Wear outfit suitable for a child fashion runway. (Every Casual Wear outfit should be age appropriate, and tasteful)
  • One (1) Handheld Prop will be allowed. NO stage props allowed.
  • Contestants may supply their own music or use the Best National Pageants music for the Outfit of Choice competition. Each Contestants music for the OOC competition must be emailed to the pageant Director at least (1) week prior to the pageant. As a backup...each Contestant should also have a CD, mobile phone version, or tablet/laptop version of their music with them at the pageant. 
  • All Casual Wear attire must be approved by the pageant director prior to competing in the Casual Wear competition. If the contestant is pulled from the Casual Wear competition due to not following the pageant rules, you will not be refunded for not being allowed to compete in the Casual Wear portion of the competition.

Talent

  • Each contestant will have up to 3:30 (three (3) minutes, thirty (30 seconds) to perform in the Talent competition.
  • Talent acts will take place on the stage, so please plan your talent act accordingly.
  • Props will be allowed:
    • Props must be able to be put together and taken apart within one minute.
    • Props will only be allowed if they’re able to be taken on and off stage quickly.
    • No confetti or smoke machines will be allowed.
    • Props will not be allowed if they litter the stage, or if the litter cannot be cleaned up very quickly & easily. Any props that litter the stage must be approved by the pageant Director prior to the pageant.

Each Contestants music for the Talent competition must be emailed to the pageant Director at least (1) week prior to the pageant.   • All talent contestants must be approved by the pageant director prior to competing in the Talent competition. If the contestant's routine is not considered a talent routine by the pageant director, the contestant will not be able to compete in the Talent portion of the competition, and you will be refunded for not being allowed to compete in the Talent portion of the competition.

Photogenic

  • Each contestant will be allowed to submit up to five (5) professional photos into the Photogenic competition.
  • 'Natural' & 'Semi Glitz' contestant photos MAY NOT be retouched/Photoshopped/etc..
  • 'Full Glitz' contestant photos MAY be retouched/Photoshopped/etc..
